3 to 6 Months – Optimal Results Maintained

6 to 9 Months – Gradual Degradation Begins
Between 6 to 9 months following the injection of Bellast, about 78% of users were satisfied, though the firmness scores declined from 8.8 to 7.5. The metabolic rate in this gradual decline averaged 10% per month in this stage.
By then, skin hydration had increased 12%, which, however, was considered low as against 19% increment in between the periods from 3-6 months. 9 to 12 Months – Noticeable Reduction in Volume
From 9 to 12 months post-administration, approximately 60% of the hyaluronic acid was degraded, and the skin fullness scores decreased from a peak of 8.8 to 6.2, still about 25% above the average at pre-injection.
At this stage, skin hydration dropped to an increase of 9% to 10%, half of the value at 3-6 months; the depth of the nasolabial fold and other folds on the face gained an average depth of 15%, that is, the average improvement became 10%, as opposed to an improvement of about 25% shortly after the injection.

The average collagen density after injection, about 12% higher than that before injection, is a little diminished from the maximum of 22%, thus giving skin some elasticity and support at 12 months after injection.

12 to 15 Months – Residual Effects Still Visible
About 20 to 25% of hyaluronic acid molecules were present in the subcutaneous tissue between 12 to 15 months after injecting Bellast, making the skin look fuller compared to the period before the injection. People with slower metabolism can maintain the effect up to the 15th month.

15+ Months – Touch-Ups Recommended for Maintenance
After more than 15 months of Bellast injections, the residual hyaluronic acid is usually less than 10%, only 5% to 10% of the amount compared to the very beginning of the injection.
About 42% of users had a decline in facial volume within 15 months; there was a decline in the visual improvement of the apples of the cheeks and the nasolabial fold by 30%. About 56% of the consumers went for a second injection to maintain the effect of Bella.
A touch-up after 15 months is a rather economical way of maintenance. The cost of re-injection is about 3000 to 5000 yuan, and the maintenance cost is reduced by 20% to 30%.
After more than 15 months, skin hydration generally returned to the pre-injection level, with an increase of about 3% from the baseline. At the 15th month post-injection, collagen density remained about 8% higher than baseline levels.
34% of the users felt that, compared to pre-injection, the softness and overall elasticity of their skin had improved; this group was comprised mostly of users aged 40 and above who were more accepting of the residual effects.
48% set their maintenance period at 12 to 18 months, with 15 months being a key touch-up point. Repurchase rates in the Asian market were 15% higher than in the North American market.
After 15 months, the touch-ups for users were mainly for localized adjustments. One consumer wanted to touch up only the nasolabial folds and mouth corners in the 16th month, with a total cost of 2800 yuan, and the effect lasted for about 6 to 8 months. Among the customers who had a touch-up after 15 months, the incidence of side effects was less than 2%, most of them minor redness or temporary localized discomfort. The lifetime value of repeat customers is about 50% higher than that of first-time customers, while customer retention increased by 28%.
